Williames Leading by Innovation

Williames Pty Ltd was founded by Geoff Williames in 1976. The business is based in Warragul approximately 100km south east of Melbourne in Victoria. The company premises house a research and development facility together with a manufacturing plant.

The company designs and manufactures a wide range of innovative products and machinery for forestry, nurseries, vegetable and tea growers. The company currently employs approximately 30 people and has a distribution network covering Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK and South Africa. The company has an extensive portfolio of intellectual property protected by over 30 patents worldwide.

Williames is an outstanding innovator. Our core strength lies in our ability to understand how seeds and plants behave when handled mechanically and to transfer this understanding into practical and reliable machinery designs that save our customers time and money.

Williames success is reflected in its extensive list of clients from around the world.

Management Team

Geoff Williames, Founder and Managing Director

Geoff Williames is the Managing Director. He founded the company in 1976. Geoff has a strong track record of successfully developing and commercialising innovative equipment for the horticultural and agricultural industries through the application of advanced technology. Geoff has worked with a number of leading organisations around the world including Unilever, Caterpillar, TATA, Cummins and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). He is internationally recognised as a leader and innovator in the horticultural and agricultural industries.

Simon Gough, Chief Executive Officer

Simon Gough is the Chief Executive Officer. He joined Williames in October 2005. Simon has a successful track record of taking companies through transitional phases and achieving strong growth and financial performance. Simon spent eight years with Arthur Andersen in London and Melbourne developing a range of skills in relation to growing businesses. In 1994 Simon joined Rust Limited in London to assist with their acquisition program. In 1995 he was seconded to Hong Kong as the regional CFO of the Rust Asia Pacific Group. In June 1997 completed an MBO of the Rust Asia Pacific Group and spent 6 years as Principal and Director. In 2003 he returned to Melbourne where he consulted to a number of private companies. Simon has a BSc Hons in Chemical Engineering and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Gary Williames, Sales Manager

Gary Williames is the Sales Manager. He joined Williames in 1995 as a draftsman. Since then Gary has worked in the factory, sales and general management. As a result he has an excellent understanding of the industry, Williames’ products and the business. Gary has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Computing from Monash University.


Company Structure

Williames Pty Ltd is 100% owned by Geoff Williames.
